Who are We?
The Shelter Cove Arts and Recreation Foundation (SCARF) was established in 2012 with the mission of improving the quality of life in Shelter Cove by offering art and recreational experiences.
We have a volunteer board of directors, and we plan to hold one public meeting a year to gather input relating to arts and recreation in our community.
There are no membership dues. All children's classes are free of charge, and adult classes may include a material fee.
Our Accomplishments
Since our inception, we have developed a softball field, three nature and exercise trails, an Art Gallery, and sponsored the Plein Air at the Lost Coast event for three consecutive years from 2014 - 2016.
In 2019 we partnered with the Bureau of Land Management to sponsor the Artist in Residence Program. During 2019, we hosted three different artists at various times during the year. Due to COVID, we were unable to host the event in 2020 and 2021. Plans are underway for the 2023 program. Click here for more info.
In 2022 the Children's Garden and Playground was completed.
Each year, we offer several children and adult workshops, including photography, electronic kit building, cooking, tile mosaic, and a Labor of Love Quilt show.
How can you Help?
SCARF welcomes your input, ideas, involvement, and volunteer participation.
Please contact SCARF via email to share suggestions for new arts and recreation activities.
Donations are gratefully accepted, and can be mailed directly to SCARF, 1060 Upper Pacific Drive, Shelter Cove, CA 95589.
A receipt for your donation will be mailed to you, and donations are tax deductible.
SCARF is a tax exempt, 501c3 California Non-profit foundation and all donations to it are fully tax deductible
